The 4th of July is a week away..and you all know what this means..No, not singed eyebrows (ok, maybe singed eyebrows)

Just the thought of spinning these semi-dangerous sparking sticks of awesome-ness like a crazy person makes me giddy. But one sure way to avoid burnt eyebrows and other things is to make some of these:

Here’s how to do it:

That’s pretty much it. Total budget=5 bucks. Any questions? facebook me or email me @ tomithina@gmail.com. And have a Happy (safe) 4th of July.

Hand-Made Chocolate Bowls

Cherry Cheesecake with Chocolate Garnish

I stumbled upon this idea in a blog I read somewhere, but found it a little bit complicated. So I simplified it and the results were AWESOME! Now this is my first post, and I’d like to say that everything I make is “Semi-Home made” because I’m not gonna lie, I love me a cake mix, etc. Now, on to the recipe..next time I will take pictures step by step.

Chocolate Bowls

  1. Start with 3 squares of chocolate candy coating. I used this>
  2. Melt according to package, using a medium size bowl. I used a microwave, but a double boiler or the oven would work.
  3. Blow up balloons according to the size of bowl you would like,  for bigger bowls, use more chocolate.
  4. Spray with a small amount of non-stick cooking spray.
  5. On a piece of wax paper put a small amount of chocolate for each bowl you want to make, this will serve as the base for your bowl.
  6. Dip your balloon into the chocolate, making sure the walls are high enough to hold your filling. After your first coat, wait about a minute and dip again.
  7. Place your balloon in the center of your dollop of chocolate on the wax paper.
  8. Place in the freezer for 5 minutes.
  9. Remove bowls from freezer, and using a pin, pop the balloons.
  10. carefully remove the balloons from the bowl.
  11. Place your balloons in the freezer until you are ready to fill.

Chocolate Garnish

  1. Put a piece of wax paper on a cookie sheet, spray lightly with cooking spray.
  2. Using the remainder of your chocolate, haphazardly make designs on your wax paper.
  3. Place into freezer until ready to use.

Filling

You can fill with whatever strikes your fancy, ice cream, pudding, whatever..but I wanted cheesecake.

  1. 1. I used this
  2. Make according to directions, except for the crust.
  3. Pour unmixed graham-cracker crust into the bottom of your chocolate bowls.
  4. add a layer of cheesecake mix.
  5. add a layer of cherry filling.
  6. add a layer of cheesecake mix.
  7. add a layer of cherry filling.
  8. sprinkle with graham cracker crust.
  9. Garnish with your pretty chocolate pieces, just like food network!
  10. Refrigerate until ready to serve!

Ta-da!

Make sure you all let me know if you try any yummy variations! I would love to see someone do white chocolate with strawberries and chocolate cheesecake!
